In the end it is clear that even though Fox has passed away he will never leave the other animals and they set about making tributes to Fox. But sometimes on dark nights the mother got into her car and drove across town. The book has a sad theme throughout although heartwarming and thoughtful. For a long time it was just a song but one day, it occurred to me that I might be able to make a story around the song. They weep over his grave!
